A few things about me

I talk a bit about my artistic approach on the about page.

As for me, I have been living in the Dombes for over 20 years now. After working in a completely different field, since 2020 I decided to change and devote all my time to my passion: watercolour.

I paint a lot, almost every day if I can (don't forget that it's also a micro-business to manage...), mainly in my small studio. Painting on the spot requires more energy and it is more difficult because the light and the shadows change quickly and the limits are not fixed. But it is mainly the light and the atmosphere of a scene or a landscape that makes me want to transform it into a watercolour painting. I therefore work mainly from my own photographs or with the permission of other photographers.

For my paintings, I sometimes make small sketches. However, for all my work I choose and test my colours before starting to paint. Watercolour painting is already technically complicated enough, so this preparation beforehand allows me to be more serene when I paint. Depending on the subject and also on the final format of the painting, I will spend an hour to a week on it.

As I work a lot with the wet-on-wet technique, I can easily work on another subject on a new sheet of paper while the first one dries.

During the school year, I give classes every Monday evening in my village for 2 hours. The emphasis is on techniques through various subjects.

I also give introductory courses with the association "traits et couleurs" on a day in La Boisse.
